ELECTIONS FOR 2018-2019 BOARD WILL BE THURSDAY, MAY 3, 2018.
TO RUN FOR A POSITION FILL OUT THIS FORM BY WEDNESDAY, MAY 2, 2018 AT 8PM.
Executive Board:
Time Commitment: The executive board meets bi-weekly to discuss JSO and Hillel programming and any issues. The meetings range between an hour and two hours depending. Each position is required to fulfill their specific duties, most of this time commitment will be outside of the scheduled meetings and will vary by position. It is expected that all executive positions will make the utmost effort to attend all Hillel and Jewish Student Organization events.
OVERVIEW OF POSITIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ELECTED POSITIONS
PRESIDENT
– Run meetings and oversee planning of events
– Votes only in case of a tie
– Handle communication between JSO, Hillel, MU, and media (usually in cases of antisemitism on campus)
– Chooses appointed positions from interested people with help from elected positions
– Attend Four Front meetings when VP Social Action can’t make it
TREASURER
– President and Treasurer are only positions with access to Org funds
– Secretary during board meetings
– Can vote
VP SOCIAL OUTREACH
– Run Social Media accounts and create FB events
– Can vote
VP RELIGION AND CULTURAL
– Plan weekly Shabbat services
– Takes over incase president is removed
– Can vote
VP SOCIAL ACTION
– Attend bi-weekly Four Front Meetings (Thursday’s at 6pm)
– Plans Social Justice Seder with Hillel staff and committee
– Oversees Head of JUMP
– Can vote
APPOINTED POSITIONS – these positions are appointed by the JSO Elected Board
CHAIR OF JUMP (Jewish Undergrads Making Progress)
– Seek out volunteer opportunities
– Organize and oversee JUMP Committee
CHAIR OF MJG (Mizzou Jewish Greeks)
– Organize events to target Greek community
– Seek to include Greeks at JSO events
– Organize and oversee MJG Committee
