Hillel Interns

Engagement Interns

Funded in part by grants from the Flo Harris Foundation through the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Kansas City and Hillel International

These interns have a really fun job – to get to know other Jewish students on campus and help connect them Jewishly! They take students out for coffee (or fro-yo!) and talk about what it’s like to be Jewish at Mizzou. They also plan programs to engage students, such as a Jewish Cooking Club, Ga-Ga tournament, and volunteer opportunities. Send em an e-mail if you’d like to get coffee sometime!

Jack Fargotstein
I am a junior from Memphis Tennessee. I love playing music and have an immense amount of pride for my Judaism. I would love to take you out for coffee or ice cream!

Maren Gelfond
Maren Gelfond is a sophomore from Deerfield, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. She is currently an engagement intern at Hillel (go on a coffee date with her!) She is studying International Strategic Communications and hopes to work in the fashion world while traveling the world.

Rachel Green
I’m a junior from St. Louis, MO. The one thing that makes me happy more than anything in the world is traveling.  I love exploring new places.  I am also an avid fan of music, Yeezys, Birkenstocks, tennis, being outside, and watching funny videos on YouTube in order to waste time.

Gabe Raskin
Shalomie Homies! I’m an Interpersonal Communications major, a founding father of ZBT and an avid coffee drinker. I enjoy the finer things in life, including: pugs, telling dad jokes and playing Jewish geography.  I can say the alphabet backwards and love meeting new people!

Marketing & Special Projects Interns

When you stop into Hillel, these are the friendly faces you see at the desk!  They do special projects, get us ready for Shabbat, and do engagement work at Hillel and on campus.  If you are interested in applying for an internship for next semester, contact Jeanne.

I have a huge chocolate addiction and I love shopping, walking my dog, and anything fitness related. When I’m not at Hillel I’m either studying at Ellis or the Starbucks in Memorial.

Mariah Monks

I love eating pita chips & hummus while watching How To Get Away With Murder, and Bagel Tuesdays are my favorite day of the week! I went to Israel on a Birthright trip last summer and made more Jewish friends at Mizzou. Fun fact: Freshman year was the first time I saw snow or lightning!

Shayna Rosenak
Major: Social Work
Year: Sophomore
Hometown: St. Joseph, MO
Fun fact, I transferred to Mizzou from KU second semester of my freshman year. I am in Alpha Chi Omega and Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. I am a lover of popcorn, basically any type of batter (cake, pancake, cornbread, brownie, etc), The Office, any Disney/Pixar movies, carbs, babies, and pillows. I also can do a really great Brittany Spears impersonation for Hit Me Baby One More Time.
