How do I get involved in Hillel?
Mizzou Hillel has tons of great events throughout the year, from Shabbat services every Friday night to movie nights and more! Students can apply to be a Hillel intern or a member of the JSO board. Also, anyone can help plan a program or get involved in a way that works for you! Contact Joel for more info or to set up a time to get coffee and talk about how you can get more involved at Hillel!
How do I join Hillel?
Any Jewish student on campus is automatically considered to be a member of Hillel and JSO and is invited to participate in all events!
Can I stop by Hillel even if programs aren’t going on?
Of course! Hillel’s doors are always open for students to stop by during business hours. (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm) The Hillel building has a library, kitchen, snack & coffee station, lounge, and more! Hillel also has its own wireless internet throughout the whole building, making it the perfect place to get some work done.
How many Jewish students are enrolled at Mizzou?
There are approximately 800 Jewish undergraduate students at Mizzou.
What does Hillel provide for students on Holidays?
Programming and religious services are led by students, with the occasional visit of a guest Rabbi or student Rabbi. Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Hannukah, Tu B’Shevat, Purim, Passover and Yom HaShoah and Israel’s Independence Day are celebrated creatively on campus or at Hillel.
