Here are some of the many programs that we have for the beginning of the Fall 2019 semester to help students make new friends and develop their Jewish identities.

FYSH (First Year Students of Hillel) Mezuzah Making and Social – Thursday August 15th, 2pm at Hillel

Welcome to Mizzou! Start the school year strong and Jewish by making a mezuzah for your dorm and meeting other Jews on campus. Snacks will be provided!

Welcome Shabbat – Friday August 16th, 6:30pm at Mizzou Hillel

Join Mizzou Hillel for our first Shabbat of the new school year! Meet up with friends for our pluralistic egalitarian service which begins at 6:30pm with a delicious dinner immediately after. Is your family also in town? Bring them with you!

First Bagel Tuesday – Tuesday August 20th, 9:00am-12:00pm at Mizzou Hillel

Whether it’s to start off your day or to cool off between classes, swing by Hillel for a free bagel! Every Tuesday anywhere from 20 to 40 students come for a bagel and chill for a little bit between classes. There will plenty of Jews to schmooze and schmear with!

 

Ice Cream Social – Wednesday August 21st, 5pm at Hillel

Come on down to Hillel and meet other Jews on campus over a few scoops of ice cream! There will also be plenty of games and icebreakers!

 

Tase of CoMo Shabbat – Friday August 23rd, 6:30pm at Hillel

Make new friends with other Jews over a Shabbat meal made of some of the best food in Columbia!

 

Shabbat Brunch – Saturday August 24th, 11:00am at Hillel

Get your brunch on at Hillel! There’s no better way to spend Shabbat than hanging out with no friends over the most important meal of the day!

Jews at Mizzou BBQ – Monday September 2nd at location TBD

In partnership with other Jewish organizations on campus, we have an annual barbecue on campus with free kosher meat, games, and opportunities to connect with other Jews on campus. All attendees will receive a free Mizzou Hillel 2019-2020 shirt, as well as other free swag!
