Q: How do I get involved in Hillel?
A: Mizzou Hillel has tons of great events throughout the year, from Shabbat services every Friday night to movie nights and more!
Q: How do I join Hillel?
A: You don’t have to join Hillel. Any Jewish student on campus is automatically considered to be a member of Hillel and JSO and therefore is invited to participate in all events.
Q: Can I stop by Hillel even if programs aren’t going on?
A: Of course! Hillel’s doors are always open for students to stop by! The Hillel building has a library, kitchen, lounge, and more! Hillel also has its own wireless internet throughout the whole building (making it the perfect place to get some work done).
Q: How many Jewish students are enrolled at Mizzou?
A: There are approximately 700 undergraduate students at Mizzou.
Q: What does Hillel provide for students on Holidays?
A: All religious services are led by students, with the occasional visit of a student rabbi. Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Hannukah, Tu B’Shevat, Purim, Passover and Yom HaShoah and Israel’s Independence Day are celebrated creatively on campus or at Hillel.
Q: How can I communicate with other Jewish students on campus?
A: Get on our mailing list so you can receive information about our events via weekly emails, our monthly calendar, and other mass mailings. Also, keep an eye out for postings in the residence halls, advertisements in The Maneater and around campus.
