Torah on Tap – Let’s Talk about Sex, Baby
Join us at the Heidelberg at 5 pm on Thursday, April 18 for a discussion on what Judaism has to say about topics related to sex. You don’t have to be 21 to attend, Hillel will provide appetizers but you need to buy your own drinks.

Shabbat Services
Friday, April 19 at 6 pm. A free Kosher dinner follows.

What’s Happening This Week in Your Friendly, Neighborhood Hillel: March 11, 2013

-Chabad is bringing a Model Matzah Bakery to Hillel, tomorrow at 6:00pm. This should be really fun!

-This Friday, March 15th is Bring a Friend to Shabbat! Bring your favorite friend for services at 6:00pm and dinner to follow.

-Pizza and a Parsha is next Tuesday, March 19th at 6:00pm at Hillel.

-As always, come by and see us at Hillel – come to hang out or study. We’re open 10am-5pm Monday through Thursday and 10am-8pm on Friday (Shabbat services at 6pm).

What’s Happening this Week in your Friendly, Neighborhood Hillel: March 4, 2013

-Columbia is celebrating Shabbat Across America this week! Instead of having services at Hillel, services will be at Congregation Beth Shalom (located at 500 W. Green Meadows Road). Services start at 6:30pm with dinner to follow. If you would like to attend but need a ride, email Jeanne at director@mizzouhillel.com.

-Torah on Tap is back! Join us from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, March 5th at the Heidelberg. We’ll provide the appetizers, but if you’re over 21, drinks are on your own dime.

What’s Happening This Week in your Friendly, Neighborhood Hillel: February 25th, 2013

What’s Happening This Week in Your Friendly Neighborhood Hillel:

-Persian Shabbat (Take 2) is happening this Friday, March 1st. Join us at 6:00pm or services with a Persian style kosher meal to follow-and homemade Hamantashen for dessert, just in case you didn’t get any last weekend!

-Come join us for Pizza and Potluck Desserts with the Muslim Student Organization, this Thursday, February 28th at 6:00pm at Hillel. It’s sure to be a fun event, with a chance to make new friends and eat some free pizza.

-Taglit Birthright registration is still open, but for a limited time! If you’re interested in this great opportunity for a FREE trip to Israel with fellow Mizzou students, contact Jeanne at director@mizzouhillel.com. If you’ve already registered, make sure you contact Jeanne (if you haven’t already) so she can make sure you’re on the Mizzou trip.

-Congregation Beth Shalom has invited Mizzou Hillel to participate in Shabbat Across America with them on March 8th-that means NO SERVICES at Hillel. If you want to go to Congregation Beth Shalom next Friday and need a ride, contact Jeanne at director@mizzouhillel.com.

-We hope everyone had a great Purim! Everyone who was on the Purim Pub Crawl had an awesome time with some pretty great costumes (pictures to come soon), and other folks celebrated with Chabad and joined Congregation Beth Shalom for their Purim Schpiel!

What’s Happening This Week in Your Friendly Neighborhood Hillel: February 5, 2013

-We’re having a Pajama Party this Shabbat! Come in your PJ’s and have breakfast for dinner after services.

-It’s about  that time of year again. Registration for Birthright will open February 11th at 11:00am (for previous applicants) or February 13th at 9:00am (for new applicants). For more information, check out www.gokesher.org or email Director Jeanne Snodgrass (director@mizzouhillel.com).

-We’re starting up a new program called Chavurot. If you’d like to come discuss this week’s parsha, Chavurot will be meeting every Thursday from 4:00pm-5:00pm starting on February 8th.

-If you’ve ever wanted to work for Hillel, today is your lucky day! We have some open shifts for this semester. If you’re interested, stop by to see Jeanne or email her at director@mizzouhillel and tell her why you want to work at the best place ever.

What’s Happening This Week in Your Friendly, Neighborhood Hillel: December 4, 2012

- Stop by Hillel for the Hanukkah Dinner and Party this Friday, December 7th at 6:00pm! Brian can actually make some pretty killer latkes, so you don’t want to miss this!

-Hillel will be open on December 10th through December 14th from 5:00pm-8:00pm for Final Exam Study Hours. Come for free snacks and menorah lighting!

-Have as good a finals week as you can possibly have and safe travels home!
